Founded in 2014, Indigo Centre for Justice (ICJ) is more than just a non-governmental organization—we are a vibrant movement fueled by passion, purpose, and people. We’re on a mission to empower communities, protect our environment, and champion human rights. At ICJ, we believe justice and equality shouldn’t be dreams—they should be everyday realities for everyone.

Mission

To empower disadvantaged women, boys, and young people in Sierra Leone by promoting equality, protecting human rights, and creating opportunities for education, leadership, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Philosophy

We believe true change begins with dignity, respect, and opportunity. At Indigo Centre, we see every woman, boy, and young person as a partner in change—not a passive recipient. What We Do

Our Usual Process

Women’s Desk.

We stand with women facing GBV and domestic abuse, providing:

  • Advocacy and legal guidance
  • Psychosocial and trauma support
  • Empowerment programs for independence.

Guide the Boys Campaign.

We mentor boys to avoid negative influences and build futures grounded in:

  • Discipline
  • Education
  • Leadership launched the 1,000m boys campaign in 2019 ensuring that every year we reach out to 1000 boys and engage them positively on social issues

Legal Aid Services.

We bring justice closer to the people by:

  • Offering free legal support
  • Simplifying legal topics via radio and social media

Our doors are open to all especially the kroobay community who enjoy our probono legal services

 

Green Concern.

Together with communities, we fight environmental threats by:

  • Combatting deforestation and sand mining
  • Promoting sustainable practices

we planted over 1200 treees in 2021.

School Clubs & Community Outreach.

From students to okada riders and taxi drivers, we:

  • Foster critical thinking and social awareness
  • Provide safe spaces for youth development
